Alison Norlen: Odyssey
This new body of work of large-scale drawings and installations of smaller paintings and embroidered works expands on Alison Norlen’s longtime interest in cultural spectacles, idyllic environments and diminished architectures. Inspired by and initiated during the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown, the works in Odyssey presents Norlen’s explorations of the domestic settings of her own home and the collections of objects and memorabilia that one comes to identify with through the accumulated memories of journeys taken and a life lived.
