Only in the Summer

While Moose Jaw is a great place to travel to all year long, there are many things that you can only do in the summer! Here are some of the things we recommend doing before fall gets here.

Sukanen Ship Pioneer Village & Museum - Located just 13 kilometers south of Moose Jaw, the Sukanen Ship is a great place to visit! It’s a pioneer village full of buildings and artifacts that tell the story of the arrival of the railroad and the development that followed. While it would be almost impossible to count all of the artifacts they have on display, there are definitely more than 100,000 including over 50 cars & trucks, over 140 tractors, and 43 pieces of machinery!

Saskatchewan Burrowing Owl Interpretive Centre - From May Long Weekend to September Long Weekend, the Burrowing Owl Centre offers tours of their facilities where you will learn about the burrowing owls, their habitat, and the conservation work that is being done to keep them around. You’ll also get the chance to see some of their imprinted owls in their enclosures!

Moose Jaw River & Adventure Tours - As long as the river isn’t frozen you can rent a canoe, kayak, or stand up paddle board and explore the Moose Jaw River! You’re sure to see wildlife like beavers, turtles, tons of birds, and more. It’s a great way to see the natural side of Moose Jaw’s beauty!

Moose Jaw Homegrown Farmers Market - Every Saturday throughout the summer (from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm), you can stop by the Farmers Market on Langdon Crescent and discover local produce, flowers, preserves, and baking, as well as tons of cool trinkets made by local artisans!

Battle Creek Adventure Park - Battle Creek is pretty much the perfect place to spend a summer day. They’ve got paintball, mini golf, beach volleyball, batting cages, and more!

Skydive South Sask - If you’ve ever thought about skydiving, summer is the time to do it! You can take lessons to solo jump, or you can do a tandem jump without the lessons at Skydive South Sask!

Buffalo Pound Provincial Park - While the park is open all year round, there are things you can only do in the summer. Like swimming in the lake or the pool, mini golfing, and mountain biking! It’s also a great place for hiking and fishing.

Daily Trolley Tours - We do offer trolley tours in the spring and fall, but if you want to catch a midweek trolley tour, summer is the time to book! We offer Downtown Trolley Tours daily, and Ghost and True Crime Tours on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

Wakamow Farmers Market - Every Saturday throughout the summer you can catch the Wakamow Farmers Market from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Kiwanis Pavilion! They have a large variety of local items like meat, baked goods, produce, and so much more.

Golfing at the Lynbrook and the Deer Ridge - Lots of people come to Moose Jaw for the golfing! A couple of great places to take a swing are the Lynbrook and the Deer Ridge!
