Please join us for Nature Moose Jaw’s March 21st meeting. Our guest speaker will be Angela Tremka, Community Engagement Manager of the Salthaven West Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Centre in Regina. Salthaven cares for injured and orphaned wildlife from our area, too.
Angela's presentation is titled “Preventable Human-caused Challenges Facing Saskatchewan Wildlife”
With the busy Spring wildlife rehabbing season soon upon us, Angela will be talking about the work of Salthaven West Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Centre.
Salthaven’s main goal is the rehabilitation of sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife and their release back into the wild.
Angela will also talk about the challenges faced by wildlife when they encounter human activity in their environment, how to coexist with wildlife in our day-to-day lives, and what to do if you come across injured wildlife.
Salthaven works with about 1400 patients a year, including birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians from over 110 communities across Southern Saskatchewan. They also handle over 5,000 calls each year from concerned citizens, addressing a wide range of wildlife-related issues.
Please note that the meeting will be held in the card room at Timothy Eaton Gardens, 510 Main St N.
Coffee and refreshments will be available following the presentation with a chance to mingle with fellow naturalists. There is no charge to attend. We hope to see you there!
