Movie: Raging Bull

One of the great classic sports biopics, Martin Scorsese’s 1980 boxing drama Raging Bull maintains a singular status and influence in American cinema. Meticulous and stylized through black and white photography, it stars Robert De Niro in his Oscar-winning performance as Jake LaMotta, tracing the violence and insecurity of both his career and personal life. The film also stars Joe Pesci, Cathy Moriarty, Nicholas Colasanto, and Theresa Saldana.

Showtime begins at 6:00, with discussion afterwards at about 8:10 pm.
